Metal, though it's a bit of both, given that prog-metal type stuff (like Opeth or Mastodon) is more calming than, say, Arch Enemy. Really, I find metal to be calming or exciting, depending on what I need, an amphoteric, like nicotine.

Never really considered it that way; I think of calm as more relaxing, taking it really easy, almost shutting down. Whereas working out the anger, whatever, just brings back a normal balance?
