Cloverfield? Loved it or hated it?

I myself LOVED the film simply because of the hand held camera technique and i have only ever met 2 other people who like it...

So did you love it or hate it?

I tried watching it and couldn't get past the first 10 minutes. Maybe I'm missing out, but from the reviews I've seen, positive & negative, it seems highly overrated.

I saw it in the theater, got a little motion sickness and missed about 5 minuets, but did not miss much apparently. It was a good gimick but not much of a film. You really never got to like or dislike the characters because the camera gimick kept you from really careing about them. You knew they would die eventually it was just how. Oh the monster was straight out of the 1950' s B movies. It was fun in the theater but did not translate well to a small screen. Gimick good, but not really repeatable (though some have tried), but plot and characters really stale.

It was good, but I really hated the fact tha you never actually got to see what the creature was.

It was exciting, but weird..but I didn't ever hear how it came about...was it an experiment gone wrong or an alien..what?
