I'm not interested in the building itself...stained glass windows or not... my purpose for being there ... To worship the Lord and keep the Sabbath day holy, is what matters to me.

Never cared for the group that are there to "socialize"
Not my scene so never got involved with that cliche. Every church has them, it is really a personal decision.

Christians just have a different "day of rest" than Jews. And all they have to do is go to church, we're actually supposed to REST.

Hmmm...well, when I was transitioning from catholic to pagan, I tried a lot of churches before deciding I was not christian. Ok, a few. One was exactly like the other catholic church I was from and didn't welcome outsiders..and was all boring and stuck-up of course. In one I was the only white person and everyone was singing ridiculously loudly and acting all crazy. The last one I tried was non-denominational, I decided maybe I had no denomination. Everyone there was a teenager, it had a christian rock band, and everyone hugged me when I came in, trying to constantly make all my outside church events just like church, it creeped me out. There was no method to the madness and their communion was casual and random.
Anyway, I am wiccan now!
I went to 2 catholic churches as I was growing up though. Both were exactly the same but one was huge and rich, and one was small and intimate. Catholic churches are exactly the same with the same formula anywhere you go. Even in florida(except the altar flowers are better :) ) I prefer ones with interesting stained glass pictures and crucifixes/statues to distract my attention from the boredom.

Churches today need to get with the times.

Whether we like it or not, we now live in a 24/7 environment. The 7th day of rest no longer applies. And for those who beleive that you MUST got to church to worship- whatever!

Gold and fun.
This may be so for decades until when the sundays are for suffering, repenting and new birth.

I really do not understand your question either? Personally I have 'been around the block' so to speak, visiting one denomination then another. Was raised in the non-denominational group. To be honest I stopped running around, looking in here and looking in there, to meet my 'idea' of the LORD God, and how he is to be worshiped, and honored. Perhaps the problem lies within myself alone. But I am to the conclusion that HE knows my heart, my mind, and my soul. I believe that Jesus walked the earth, that he died, and that God loved him so much as to raise him to life again. One congregation would claim IF you did not fall out in the floor in the Spirit, you were not really 'born again'. Or if you did not speak in tongues. Tongues even in the Bible found in the New Testament means to define, another language. Not someone blabbering away. And the Bible also speaks that their is to be someone to tell others what the people speaking in Greek, Hebrew, Swahili, is saying. And IF everyone in the 'church house' speaks English, what is the need to speak in another language anyway? These things just led to further confuse my mind. Another congregation was so humdrum, like they were simply going through motions because their parents and grandparents did the same thing. And communion, when taken, was just taken like it had to be done. Yet another had all kinds of rules, like eating no meat what so ever. No fish nor poultry. Pure vegan. A new member HAD to be Voted in, before they could belong. NO one can appear to get it all down pat. Man throws in some of the craziest and strangest rules, into believing in and worshiping God. I am afraid this turns many people away, and I do not understand, why this happens. Why can't Christians get it all together in sinc, with one another, is beyond me. I am probably totally wrong, but now I stay at home and from Friday evening at sunset, until Sunday evening, I hold my own inner worship service. I read my Bible and pray for understanding, knowledge, and wisdom as to what I am reading. This has strengthened my belief in God and Jesus more than all the years, chasing around searching for some man behind a pulpit, to tell me what the Bible says and what God expects of me as a human being residing on this Planet.
