    Taking the responsibility (for what needs to be forgiven) is empowering and liberating when it means that you weren't so much the victim as you were a willing partner in the tango which took two. It's a lesson in what not to do the next time you're in a relationship where you willingly give permission for people to steam roll right over you when you could have very easily and appropriately said 'no I deserve better' and not let yourself be flattened like a pancake.
