Resolved Question

Could this be bipolar?

Basically... my moods are unpredictable. One minute I could be completely happy, the next, I'll get extremely wound up for no reason. Sometimes I cry, for no reason. It causes a lot of arguments in my relationship because sometimes when I get angry, I end up shouting at my fiance, and I don't even know where it all comes from.

This doesn't just happen every now and then, it happens almost every day. And has done for the last 6 years, since I went through a patch of bad depression.

I've tried these 6 years to sort this out. I've come to terms with the reason behind the depression. But for some reason my moods seem to be getting worse. It's already ruined 2 relationships and I'm afraid it's going to ruin another.

People have said It could be my diet or PMS. But my diet is better now than ever, and I don't get PMS 365 days a year! I know that people do tend to get moody. But realistically.. Should it be happening every day? In some cases.. My mood changes every hour. As if my good mood switches itself off for no reason.

Bipolar has been suggested.. What do you think?

I suffer from Bipolar Depression and I experience many moods that I thought I didn't even have. There are many times that I change moods as the hours go by. One minute I can be very excited about something and the next I am depressed. I can also get very angry very fast basically everyday of my life. My moods due affect my relationship but like everything else we work through the problem. I would say that it could very well possibly be Bipolar, but I would go see your Doctor and just discuss with him that you feel you might be suffering from Bipolar.

considering ur mood elevations, it's very very possible its bipolar. however, i strongly suggest to u that u go see a therapist who will diagnose u correctly and give u proper therapy. on the other hand, there are lots of depressions that are similar to bipolar. it's caused by imbalance of chemicals in the brain...thats why u have those episodes of sadness, anger, joy etc.

dont worry, there r many people nowadays with this dissorder ;)) it's all the stress we go through every day thats in such high levels like never before.

The best thing for you to do is to see a psychiatrist so a thorough evaluation can be completed. Once that has been done, you then have some answers about your specific situation and with the doctors help you can create a plan to keep you from the wide mood swings you currently are experiencing.

I don't know, but since you think you are destroying relationships because of actions or feelings you can't control, it is time to get professional help. That's always a red flag.

Bipolar when they are manic, tend to talk incessantly, can't sleep much, have lots of energy, spending sprees, buying drinks all around, the party animal. Then they will cycle down to severe depression where they will stay in their house for days, stay in bed, can't function.
In any case please contact a counselor, psychologist, psychiatrist for correct diagnosing.

Possibly, but bipolar is way overdiagnosed these days and the meds can have pretty brutal side effects.

First off, objectively look at your relationship. It is normal to be depressed or anxious or angry at a bad relationship. If there is a problem there, that is the first place to make changes, not medication.

Second, serotonin cannot get into your cells if the membranes are stiff from too much Omega 6 fats. Take 5 capsules of fish oil a day (you want 1 gram of DHA). Fish oil alone has been shown to treat bipolar. The DHA used to be in meats and dairy and isn't any more.

Third, magnesium and trace elements alone have treated bipolar. The minerals are way down in our soil, so aren't in the food. Sea veggies, kale and herbs help too. But try a source of ionic minerals which are easily absorbed, and needed for enzyme reactions to get your neurotransmitters into the cells.

And make sure you get 8 hours of sleep, exercise regularly and avoid junk food.
