It would be a shock to the system. Many would not adapt. I recall that human beings have been doing this for thousands of years. I would make sure I did. Survival of the fittest.

Yes, we have a pump attached to three large water tanks. A generator for the fridge /freezer and fuel to keep it running. Medication for basic ailments for the whole family for 12 months. Gas cylinders and a cooktop for cooking and light (we have 3 light fittings (attachments for the gas cylinders) A large tent and bedding withe several changes of clothes per person stored in a separate building on the property in case of fire or flood. We have 12 months worth of food and sanitary products for the whole family. For entertainment we have at least 15 boardgames, several packs of playing cards, and writing/drawing materials. We have an outside basketball ring and several balls for various games

Billions of people today survive with even less than that. They also go to bed hungry every night.

Be hard to at the beginning, but that is the wonderful about who we are. It is more to do with the power of your mind..

I have done it few times during my life and it was great.. but then it was when I was in my teens.. If I had to I can go without.. as can all of us.. you either choose to live or you dont .. that is the challenge for surving..

Double yep. Survivors aren't just people who can give up a bathroom, they are unique people who can keep it and whatever world they have together. Watch the animal planet and you see all the gazelles but the lions only catch some? The others have a survival mechanism. It's nature's way to keep humanity alive and evolving. An interesting neuroscience thing is that the earlier a baby starts to walk the less chance of Parkinsons. Why's that--cause a walking baby is a baby that can run from the predator and one that can't is either history or the neurobiological thing eventually shows up. Vicious? Just life. And you got a baby--best thing you can give that baby for a year is no stereo or TV. All the best brain cells hardwire in the first year and the more outside auditory stimulus the worse for those synapses. Babies used to be raised in quiet. You can play and interact but imagine trying to do the SAT's with Grey's Anatomy blasting through.

I think so - but with difficulty; and I don't know how long. Predatory humans or animals, or mistaking a poisonous plant for a wholesome one could end life in an instant.
