I so badly wanted to see my c-section with my boys.. but they would not allow it..

with my first son I looked up at the ceiling and saw the mirror.. haha! it was awesome! I saw them gut my stomach.. and they put my insides on top of my stomach .. like near my chest.. it was crazy! and then someone noticed I was watching it from the ceiling mirror and covered it.. lame-o's =P

My aunt used to always tell me I should be a doctor because I can handle seeing stuff like that.

i could, because blood is crack to me. i thrive on the sight of it. besides, once a person starts to bleed, they become no longer a person but an object for my personal fascination :)

You'd find me passed out cold on the floor.

i've never seen an operation performed but i have seen the before and after numerous times, including on myself, and i'm sure the actual op doesn't hold a candle to it. i'm not very squeamish.

I am not really squeamish; I regard the human body as "biological machinery", and marvel at its ingenuity and complexity. I don't think I would pass out, unless I too was under stress or unwell.

I can handle blood and gore in real life..I just don't like the fact that people are entertained by seeing it in the movies.

Not really a problem as long as I do not see a needle. I have a huge phobia of them and would pass out if they used one.

I would pass out. I literally fainted in a library once just *reading* a medical book!

Ever notice how on TV they're showing not only reallive operations but actual autopsies. Ths was all unheard of just around a decade ago. It's like you can't escape seeing some of it when you have cable TV.
I do get shaky knees in hospital or clinic settings. But I'm pretty sure I could witness all the blood and guts imaginable if it happened in the outdoors. Take an auto accident or battlefield fatality with all the gore you can imagine. That would be no problem for me to see and I wouldn't get squeamish. What I'm saying is it's the sterile enviroment these events take place in that turns my stomach. Does anyone else feel this way?

I've never understood being afraid of blood.... it's a very vital substance--it keeps us alive. When I see it, my first instinct is to find a way to keep it from escaping the person's body, lmao.

It's not corrosive, although you should always wear gloves when handling a bleeding person..... but it's not gonna burn through your flesh or anything.

First of all....I've never known of an operation to be done in the emergency room.

And no....I wouldn't pass out because I would leave first.
