It could be identity theft. You need to jump on this ASAP. Call that company and tell them exactly what you've said here. Demand to know how/when the card was open and the details of every charge. Then, dispute the entire thing with them. You also should notify the police and try to get a copy of your credit report to see if there is anything else.

First, you need to make sure that the company you are calling is legit, and if they are, you need to have them send you everything they have.

don't give any information on the phone without knowing who you are talking to. They might be trying to steal your information now. Get proof, phone the police ask them what to do.

Someone's taken your identity and used it to get a credit card in your name. All you can do is go to the company and explain; hopefully they're used to that sort of thing by now and will sort it out for you. Not entirely sure how you stop it happening again, though. (Here in the UK, all applications for credit have to go through credit reference agencies, and you can go to them to put protections in place, like making sure you're notified when anyone tries anything like this.)

Because then they'd get the bill. The whole point is to spend, keep whatever they buy and leave you to deal with it. It's fraud.

Call the District Attorneys office tell them what is going on. Sounds like someone took out credit in your name.
