False. Just because one is cruel to another does not mean, or justify, the victim to be cruel back. It is like two wrongs do not make a right. Cruelty to one can spark compassion, caring, and determination in many. The victim can choose. Do I turn around and seek out vengeance and stoop to that level? Or do I overcome it and, regardless of the cruelty to myself, better myself and show kindness and compassion to those who may choose the previous answer? Everyone chooses. You and I choose. I choose to fight away demons of the past and help others with my understanding and experience. You choose to sure kindness and caring to others regardless of the cruelty to you. It doesn't mean we don't resent those who were crue. It doesn't mean we don't hate thinks in our pasts. It just means we have chosen to overcome it and with our scars visible to the world, we move forward. Cruelty CAN birth more cruelty. That doesn't mean it always does.

    Cruelty has many children.
    One is cruelty.
Another is self deprecating people who somehow feel they deserve it.
Every so often, someone who grows to overcome it.

This is false. If a person experiences cruelty they can either choose to absorb and pass on that cruelty or break the chain and in turn show others compassion. The latter is the strongest choice and can lead to a healthier mental state for the person, but unfortunately most people do not care about others enough to show them compassion.
