Id say personality definitely. Looks are fine and are a plus, but looks can be very deceiving and they can change due to age, disfigurement, weight loss/gain, etc. I usually find that if I am attracted to the person themself, they also look pretty good to me as well regardless of any flaws or imperfections.

Although there needs to be some physical attraction, personality is much more important to me. My wife is physically beautiful, but she is the most mean spirited, close minded and bitchiest women I have ever met. I would gladly trade her beauty for a better personality.

Personality, however if I'm not attracted to them at all physically it won't work out anyhow. Not saying that he has to be beautiful to the world (Often if the personality is right, they become more attractive to the beholder), but if there's no spark, a fantastic personality won't save it either.

Definitely personality. Looks fade, money goes, friends leave but a good character and personality is all that matters in the end for a potential mate.

Though being cute doesn't hurt either but I find myself attracted to many different types. Really good looking people intimidate me. =X

I have to agree personality is a must for me! Looks are a bonus, but definitely not important.

I can only say this- that every american I have met has judged me on my looks- therefore with every answer you have showing personality- someone is lying or they are in denial.

And the person who said people's personality shines through in their looks- that is not true unless you come from a priviledged class or have a family who cares about you- and even if you have family that cares about you it can be beaten down by people from school. So the point is: no your personality doesn't always come through in your looks- for millions (yes millions) who fall through the cracks or are the victims of others - their personality is oppressed. All that shows through in their looks are the way they are treated by others.

for myself, give me someone who has a great personality over great looks. i've had men who were good looking, but their personalities weren't the greatest and they didn't treat me that well either. i'd rather have someone who knows how to treat me than a piece of eye candy.

Thats hard but for me it's always personality in the end. Looks are great if you can have that too but Personality is the most important

Personalty. Looks will wane but your personality is forever. Personalty and good looks are not mutually exclusive.

I'd be lying if I didn't say both are important to me, but personality wins out over all. A guy could be drop-dead gorgeous, with a perfect body and piercing eyes, but if he's an *******--he leaves me cold.

I'm no model, so I'm not looking for a male model, but I do like men that look a certain way and that take a certain amount of pride in their appearance (unless they can pull off sloppy and still look cute).

A guy could have a fabulous personality, but if I'm not sexually attracted to him, I'll never be able to see him as more than a friend. That being said, if a guy has a wonderful personality, and there's chemistry, he will only become more and more attractive to me as my feelings grow.

Personality. Looks are important, very important. In the end, though, personality wins.
