stuck on Balzac's pair of novel's Poor Relations. Cousin Pons and Cousin Bette. they made a film out of Cousin Bette. I couldn't make it through Cousin Pons but I was busy at the time and it was a library book. he wrote, i think, 48 nevels in his life. most of them unremarkable, obviously. like Isaac Asimov who wrote something obscene like a book a month through the peak of his career. anyway, the same characters wove in and out of all of Balzac's, which he afterward titled "The Human Comedy." then he wrote two more, Cousin Pons and Cousin Bette. those, he called, "Poor Relations" weird. didn't think i'd write that. sorry for the ramble.
