    The dollar lost value when we went off the gold standard. It's been downhill since.

    There was this fellow by the name of George W. Bush a few years back, actually, and he deregulated a lot of things that affected our American currency. Minimum wage went up from $5.15/hr to $7.25/hr, which is some really great proof for anyone who wants to throw some Obama-hate on this thread.

    a bit but will continue to do so until we get our fiscal house in order other countries are afraid to invest in our bonds or companies
