And living alone was no good alternative...

    No.

    I am that woman who stays in a relationship even when it's not as much fun anymore, not because I'm lazy, but because I gave that person a promise to be faithful and to try to work out any problems and stick with the long-haul.

    I seem to be in the minority regarding that.

    It takes work to keep those feelings alive. When you get lazy and let them die, that's on you both.
