This rarely works, most of the time surgery is required to solve the problem.

my nephew tried that and it didnt work so he finally went and got surgery to make it straighten out

The brain is an amazing thing. I wear monovision contacts. One eye focuses close for reading, the other for distance. The brain adjusts.

My great-nephew was fitted with special glasses last year die to lazy eye. He still wears them, but when he is tired, his eye still crosses sometimes.
