I knew someone whose Russian professor wasn't 100% fluent in English, and reportedly she said "give me oral" to a student who was hesitating on an oral exam.

Totally relate. I had a professor that couldn't pronounce "v". In stead he used "w". He didn't know how to pronounce a classmate's name. "Virginia." Sounded the w and drooped the a at the end.
