If you are going to be classicist then get it right. English is an Indo-European language, similar to Latin, or Greek, or P/Q Celtic, etc.
It's no more mostly Latin than it is mostly Old German.
It is, like most languages, a pragmatic, practical, mongrel of a language made up of whatever was useful and available!
