Look - President Obama is OUR president now. OUR's with captial letters. Whether you believe in his policies or not he was elected by a majority of the people. We, the people should pull behind him and pray for him. Yes, there will be lots of debate in congress about this. There will probably be lots of anger, but when the screaming and shouting is done this country will pick itself up and go again. If you disagree with our president, write him. If you totally disagree, work for the other party to get someone else elected in four years. But to disparage him is not in your best interest or mine. Disagreement is goog for this country but knocking a president and calling names is very very bad.

At least they are talking about giving $500,000 to the arts as part of this plan. It seems that every time the republicans are in office, the Arts are scratched and government funding disappears, but when democrats are in office the funding suddenly appears. That's something I'm glad about with this stimulus plan. People don't appriciate the arts or have the chance to when RepUbs are in office. We, as the US, are the only western civilized country that doesn't have an automatic government funded Arts program and that is very sad.

But what if I don't WANT my hard-earned money going to the arts? I need to put food on MY table for MY family. Better yet, if I want to go see the arts, I'll pay if I choose to.

No, I didn't watch. Every time I did turn on the news yesterday I heard everything he was going to say last night anyway: It's the worst recession since the depression, the republicans are partisan obstructionists, if we don't spend a gazillion dollars NOW!!!, we'll never recover.

Yes and i have come to the conclusion that he is certainly not going to be one of the great orators of our time.
His speech manner is very hesitant and unsure and basically he is like the rest of us when it comes to the way to save the economy,fairly clueless.

Yes, I did and if you had studied economics, particularly Keynesian econ you would know that that the primary worry is whether the stimulus plan is big enough. Look the economy is collapsing into a depression so unless massive stimulus is employed, the result will be 10 year of recession/depression with many of us losing jobs.

Yes!!!!! I was impressed with the simplicity of his answers and the straight forwardness of why the things he talked about are necessary in the stimulus proposal. I am so relieved that his head wasn't bobbing up and down like Bush's did. That was so annoying!!!!
It was refreshing to listen to an intelligent man for a change!!!!!!! Blessings!!!!
