no never. they forbided me to other things sometimes however... and my therapist joyce poorter said I couldn't date guys I liked cuz she said they wouldn't want me or like me... and I wouldn't be rich enough for them or pretty enough for them... and she said I had to leave home and be a prostitute and obey her otherwise nothing would go right in my life. too confusing.. but my parents never said I could not date or bring a boyfriend home etc .... they have to my sister however cuz they got sick of her BS all the time and fights and yelling ... and them taking over ...

Nope, never been on a date anyway, lol.
Dont see why any parent would forbid that tho. Your choice and try to.. hmm overprotect someone would just make it worse for them later in life.
They can be honest all they like tho, why they dont want you to, or what they think about it. But again, choice should rest on the person who is invited on a date or wants to date.
