Do any of you believe in spirits or reincarnation?

Yes, there are spirits both of human origin and of non human origin. You may have heard of Poltergeists or playful spirits. These are non human spirits and can sometimes cause much grief to living people, sometimes even death. They seem to have a lot of energy or power and can physically move objects such as tables and chairs or even rain down stones on some hapless human. Human spirits are of people who have been traumatized in life and who may have committed suicide. They do not proceed to a higher spiritual plane where usually human spirits who have lived a good and happy life go. These spirits get stuck in a dimension just above that of our physical world. In that dimension they can see everything as we can and can hear sounds etc just like us. It takes time for them to move to another higher dimension. These spirits usually manifest themselves to people since they are in pain and their problems are still unresolved. They seek out people to help them sort out something or the other but humans usually get too scared to help them in any meaningful way.

Reincarnation is the process whereby the soul keeps coming back to earth to process itself, experience certain things such as emotions of various kinds. Love, hate, anger, greed, power etc. The Earth is like a crucible in which the soul gets purified. When we are in a the spiritual domain, we set ourselves lessons that we want to learn on Earth. We choose who our parents are going to be, where we are going to be born, what our circumstances will be, who are the people who will surround us and interact with us, who we will marry or whether we will marry at all, in fact all aspects of our life on Earth is planned in advance. However when we actually are born we forget this celestial planning and live our lives as if we have no knowledge of what is in store for our selves. However our souls do not forget and like and invisible driver, keep steering us along the path that we had chosen for ourselves. We do not always inculcate all the lessons that we had planned for ourselves. However our souls keep pushing us to go along our chosen paths to the extent that is possible. We also have Guardian spirits who help us along from the other side. When we finally pass on we under go a period of introspection and assessment of our achievements and slippages. Sometimes we have to come back to Earth to relearn some of the lessons that we had set our selves earlier and of course to learn fresh ones. The process of reincarnation goes on till our souls have achieved a level of development that makes it redundant for them to come back to Earth. That state is known as Nirvana.
