Well, in one way it can. Music is an art. So, those who study the art. like the proper techniques, tuning, harmony, etc.. can technically be considered more superior to others (in terms of the 'art' technique or form). However, it IS an art. So it is purely subjective interpretation, to which it can have many different variations in interpretation. So if someone prefers music composed by howling dogs over music preformed with classical instruments, who are we to argue or say what we like is better (even if ours has proper form & technique). Just like some people prefer a 3 yr olds splattered paint on canvas to a classic piece like The Mona Lisa. It's not up to us to claim it superior (Even tho with technique it could be considered as so.)

No.There are some songs or genres that I don,t have a taste for but consider it as good talent. However I am biased in that todays music is rubbish and yesterday,s music was far better.

You're absolutely right. That's like saying that someone is superior to you because their favorite color is blue while your favorite color is yellow.

Absolutely not. People that argue about it, especially about genres like "No, than band is not death-hardcore-grind-happy-hour metal because there's not enough synth in it" make me roll my eyes. I want to tell them to get over themselves and just listen to what they like.

What makes music good is very subjective. It is hard to imagine though that Justin Bieber is better than Mozart.

No. I'm quite particular in what I like but all styles have artists with musical merit.

I think that it depends on your criteria for superior music. I think that most people think that their favorite type of music is superior in one way or other. And there are reasons that some people really abhor certain musical genres.

More refined, eclectic and cultured perhaps... but not so sure about the word "superior".

No. I think one choice is just different than another.
