Do cats deserve the bad rap they have?

Cats are supposedly known to be aloof, unloving, and self-centered. Like furry little divas. Do you think they deserve kind of reputation?

I currently have 3 of my own....all are very affectionate, playful, little furballs.....aloof...not so much...they are just independant and picky about the humans they choose

Sleepless42	Posted Jul 31st, 2009 at 1:22PM My cat is the complete opposite of that, she waits at the top of the stairs for me to come home and then cries to be picked up, she will then put one paw on each of my shoulders and give me a hug. She also gives kisses by touching her nose against mine. Crazy animal.. Rated: +2Vote for this!

charlo	Posted Jul 31st, 2009 at 1:44PM NO WAY! I think human beings regard their pets like people sometimes and attribute them with human characteristics. So just because a cat can leave your house and be independent people say they are 'aloof' and 'cold. People think dogs aren't like this because they rely on the owners more and so are seemingly 'part of the family'. Hmmm All animals-dogs and cats stay with us coz we give them food and water and shelter. That's it. Rated: +1Vote for this!
