Yes. "That's your opinion" or "you have a right to your opinion" is just a dismissive, condescending way of saying "I don't want to think critically, so I'm going to seem magnanimous and tolerant while in reality being an irrational and ignorant ****."

Yeah I almost made this guy fighting mad one time when he said those exact words to me. “That’s YOUR opinion” I quickly responded. “yeah, ..I know,…I just said it”. Everybody in the room kinda’ had a funny reaction to it but he got steamed. And I wasn’t trying to put him down but he felt like I’d really insulted him.

Thinking hard, I thought of one that really really really gets my druthers.

For me, it's the rudest thing you could ever say to another human being. It is a complete dismissal of the person, their feelings and ideas. I do not say it, will not say it, and have made it quite clear to my children that there are many other ways to get a person to be quiet without using that term.Like (1)

haha! That is annoying! What about when something ****** happens and people say "This will make you stronger". What if I freakin don't want to be stronger!!!
