No, it's just that the "criminals" aren't criminals until they're convicted -- and considering the number of innocent people who've been let out of jail after 10, 15, 20+ years, because of DNA evidence, it's a good thing

No, they just use them more often than we do.

Yes they do...We're not talking about wrongful convictions here...Today they reported a 16 year old who broke both the wrists of a 72 year old woman during a violent burglary...It was not his first violent burglary.
He was released to reappear becos the judge "trusted him"...Outside court, all he had for the waiting media was a disrespectful and offensive gesture..The only reason he was initially apprehended was due to his bragging about his crimes to friends.
This is a daily stock-standard type of report..There is no doubt as to his guilt or his attitude. There is no doubt as to the 2 broken wrists of his vulnerable victim..Obviously the judge is more concerned with being popular with the criminal,..rather than popular with the victim or the public which the judge is putting at further risk.
For something petty,..especially when you're innocent but stitched up by the 'system'...you can be worse off than if you home-invade and break peoples bones..Its pathetic..The concept of "vigilante" does spring to mind. For the thugs to actually get a taste of their own medicine..Not by some pathetic legal system,..but by "peoples justice".

I work in the field of criminal defense. ;) Had this very heated debate last night with my boyfriend who works at the Sheriff's Department. He says no, I say Yes. Everyone has the same set of rights. You assume that a criminal has more rights because the criminal's rights have been tested!

JaneJopie, BOTH me and my boyfriend are 100% with you on your idea! Put them to work doing hard labor around our cities. Why not?

Under the law......there is no such animal as a victim....

The person that the injustice was done to....Well the law considers them not a victim....but a witness....and some evidence.... The law considers..."The People of the State"...or The "People of the United States"....depending on weather it is a federal crime or just a state one.....as the victims....

Sorry if I digress.....To answer the question....Yes I do feel that the scum bags are given more rights than the ones t hat were wronged.....and this at times.....Is truly the biggest crime of them all......that is why I think that we should all have guns......and protect ourselves from the Bag guys...I mean if it is a trial by a 9MM.....what better trial is there
