Do drug laws have more to do with who uses that drug or is it about the harms of that drug?
Do you think Marijuana would still be illegal if most of its users were perceived to be middle aged/elderly white women, ceo's, lawyers and politicians rather than gangbangers, hippies and people that are feared?
Would crack cocaine have that 5 year mandatory minimum for 5 grams if most of its users were banksters on wall street instead of poor violent inner city blacks?
The same is happening with tobacco. Premium Cigars and Pipe tobacco which tend to be used by upper class people wearing suits and ties are being left alone. While cigarettes and smokeless tobacco which tend to be used by poorer people and bums, the government wants to put more restrictions, taxes and bans on them. Even though any form of tobacco is dangerous and causes cancer.
