May I comment, chiquita? I noticed one poster saying feminine women are fake or something, how can that be, yikes, Im feminine, to see me, you know, Im born this way, my personality is what shapes how I react, and the things I do, but, hands down, if you saw me, you would definitnely say...feminine, in everything I do and move and yet that doesnt diminish my intelligence and ability to run my life in a very stable way...Im snow white of the forest:)..lol....and feminine as I am, I can still lug in a couple logs of wood for the fireplace at a time, maybe three...but I do it:)..and summers, I wear skirts, and summer dresses and sandals, so whats with the top poster saying feminine (hey its a friend of mine here too..hehe:)...that feminine females are effected, thats ridiculous, take that back, not true..:) purrrs
lol i just had to read all you said in a very femine posh voice joshing round sorry lol x
I know this is kind of contradictory but I love girls who are "Tomboys" but when the time comes for it they are girly girls. I like girls basically who aren't afraid to do anything I am but aren't afraid to jump in my arms if they need to.
ahh sounds like you almost met your woman then lol
For me, I like feminine mostly. Feminine women are irresitable. I wouldn't be too hard on your mother's comments, she is right, and no she wasn't talking about a prostitute. The dilema I think for many of us is that there are times when a tomboyish type is really appreciate, like when you need a hand moving the couch and none of your buddies are around. Girly girly is WONDERFUL, as long as she is fun and likes to be naughty also. I'm hopeful naughty was included in the broader definition of 'feminine'. Unfortunately I believe we have lost a little of the majic in the differences between men and women and how it stimulates both in our ongoing quest to be so much alike, and maybe too much alike. I say its time to emphasis and celebrate the differences. At the end of the day, women are simply amazing. My thoughts.
I greatly prefer feminine women. Yumm, yumm. They bring out the tender, romantic side of me. I want someone different, even though that has its downside. The upside outweighs it in my mind. Difference makes for attraction. She doesn't have to want to watch sports as long as she's willing to tolerate me watching (which I don't do to excess). Wouldn't want a gal who hates to ever wear a skirt.
No.no. not a prostitute, Chiquita, lol.
from what I noticed, most men like women who are on the bitchy side.. like domineering, bossy, possessive. At least, younger men do. I also notice that usually men go for "softer" types as they get older, and just want to settle down.
I think I seem really meek at first, and I never attract men around my age(I'm 21).
Probably because I really don't like any social games, and especially don't like this pressure on women to compete with one another through looks - it's the modern corset, and it's up to women to put their foot down, and stop this discrimination. I'm not saying beauty shouldn't be admired, but a woman should be given full credit for her accomplishments, regardless of her relationship status, or her physical attractiveness.
exactly, very well said, couldn't agree more
Aside from the fact that I think that the ideas of "feminine" and "masculine" are both overplayed, I'd have to say that my preference depends on what I'm looking for. I can appreciate both a "masculine" woman and a "feminine" one, but I will think of them differently based on how they conduct themselves. If a woman acts like "one of the guys", that's likely how I'll think of her, as opposed to "relationship material", if that makes any sense (likely not). Likewise, if someone conducts themselves in a more feminine manner, I'd be more likely to think of her as a woman (and thus, prospective relationship material), than just one of the guys.
Like I said earlier though, I think the ideas of femininity versus masculinity are both overplayed; I'd be turned off by a woman who was purely one or the other (though I'd be turned off more by the purely masculine woman). I'd prefer someone who is multifaceted, for example, a woman who is very "feminine", yet assertive, perhaps even a bit domineering (as opposed to the "feminine" characteristic of submissiveness). In short, I am not a walking gender stereotype, and wouldn't want someone who was either. But, to answer within the bounds of your question, I'd prefer someone who is feminine.
Guys have femine sides too you know lol!!! I know this one very well lol I happen to think it's great a person whether they are male or female who really can show off either side of their personality, it's great, purely one or the other can be very annoying, yes I agree!!! haha
I always found a woman more attractive when she wasn't afraid to roll up her sleeves and get her hands dirty, knowing later she'll transform herself into Audrey Hepburn.
I'll finish with the immortal words of the late Charlie Rich "When we get behind closed doors, then she lets her hair hang down, And she makes me glad that I'm a man ..."
precisely you hit the nail on the bud lol
Here I go: open mouth, insert shoestore. Let me try and clarify your top rated answer. What I think THEMADHATTER000 is saying is that a woman with a strong personality is more feminine than a woman who enacts meekness to be attractive, which is just shallow and will only attract shallow men. And most guys won't like "tomboys".
The thing is I don't care if guys or girls like me or not, the fact of the matter is it isn't me they are actually hating because in all reality they do not know me to actually like or dislike me, so, going by that, it sounds rather shallow!!
lol i can only say that I'm like marmite, you either love me or hate me haha
I hope you don't mind me answering even though I am a woman. :) I think what men like depends entirely on their personality (Duh, that is like stating the obvious) but let me explain. My husband likes a woman who looks feminine but does not mind getting her hands dirty by fishing, camping, digging in the garden, pub crawling with him, playing pool but also knows how to be soft, gentle, caring and totally feminine when his testosterone is in high gear. In other words, he likes woman with multiple personalities. :)
I actually think that everybody has multi personalities, I just don't think everybody realizes that they do
Men are individuals, and their taste in women is an individual thing.
yes, just the same as women are individuals and their taste is also an individual thing :)
I like a woman who is girly and not so girly. I like a woman who if she is hungry eats, if it is hot out wears a dress if she wants. I also like a woman who will go fishing and put her own worm on, but if not I will. I also like a woman who will cut grass with me ( I have a rider). No of this I can't get my hands dirty because I might break a nail. I also love to pamper my girl, so I don't need to be called a barbarian.lol. I love women, just a little more girly than not.
lol very nicely said
Well...I am a lesbian..but I def want girly girls and not butches. To me butch girls are just NOT sexy lol
lol i think the whole world must be lesbian haha but there you are!
I like a woman to be a woman.....
then again she doesn't have to be either feminine or masculine all the time.... she can switch as she prefers... it's up to her
Personally I like a woman who can be a little of both. But if I could only have one I think I like a lady, as long as she is naughty in bed lol.
...LOL,I'm a Girly Tomboy,I change the oil in mine and my husbands trucks.I have torn off and reroof three different buildings..I managed an auto parts store for 10yrs and all my guy customers were crazy about me..Men want a woman who can be both a working partner and a cuddly sex toy.
lol that is so true
Hi Chiquita! You got a good blog session going on here, well done. The relationships I've encountered have appreciated me for being feminine BUT (lol) they like it when I get out there and get my hands dirty too. I guess the feminine side is for the love making/sex and romance, the rest is just keeping it real.
Know you have already picked a best answer, but like my friends, I pick my women similarly, I prefer ones which are well rounded, comfortable with themselves and capable. Which means feminine and a tomboy when required. I have come home at night, found the wife busy with her garden and she asks me what is for dinner. We both work, we both have our hobbies, kids are out of the house. I cook now as I did then, when needed. I guess the key is, be yourself, you will find the man who can accept that, be anything else, you both will be unhappy lie at any point and you both lose.
As a personal note, I find women with good posture very alluring, it bespeaks a firm mind.
I like a woman who can take care of herself, love me to distraction, and be the envy of every other man around (including gay guys). That probably makes her pretty feminine.
"Men" are all different, we can't be lumped into one preferential category. That said - I think the norm is to prefer feminine women. Personally, I can go either way - and I've often been drawn to tougher, more manly women.
Well I would just that everybody is different and that no one should be lumped into a category but, it would probably be considered widely the "norm" for men to prefer feminin women, but really a lot of males actually seem to like the both sides shown, I think just as much as the females like to see the man show both their masculine and feminin side, I am more drawn towards feminin guys that are not really matcho, I don't do the whole matcho guy thing, It really just irritates the **** out of me to be honest!
Feminine, womanly, decent, loving. Otherwise what's the precise point of being a woman?
lol could say the same about blokes but well!!! you tell me, what is the point exactly!?
