anastazia interesting parts you post about Quran, if you want to learn about Islam read the WHOLE Quran and the WHOLE Hadeeth and you will know the real truth.<br />
Islam is all about peace and being fair for Muslims and non-Muslims ,and not in the name of peace and freedom we kill children for oil.<br />
Sadly whats happening today is "War is peace, Freedom is slavery, Ignorance is strength"
Good on yah !
Exept you silly bag, Ignorance is not streagth. HELLO
Read the Quran and lets have this discussion again and tell me again that killing is against Islam. Tell me again its a wonderful nice religion. I beg to differ on that one, because I have read parts of the Quran and disgusted in what it says. The Bible can be rather crude and rude as well but it doesnt say to go kill people. <br />
Mohammed said, “Whoever changes his Islamic religion, kill him.” (Hadith Al Buhkari vol. 9:57)<br />
3:85 “Whoever seeks other than Islam as his religion, it will not be accepted from him, and in the hereafter he will be with the losers” “Slay the idolators [non-Muslims] wherever ye find them, and take them captive, and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush. Fight against such of those who have been given the Scripture as believe not in Allah nor the last Day…. Go forth, light-armed and heavy-armed, and strive with your wealth and your lives in the way of Allah! (Sura 9:5,29,41).<br />
Sura 5:51: “O you who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors: they are but friends and protectors to each other. And he among you that turns to them for friendship is of them.”
the muslim religion is a nonviolent religion so saying that all muslims believe in killing anything is a false statement. there are extremists in that religion just like in every other group of people. they could live here to simply prosper in america or they could be here with violent extremist groups waiting on orders to kill everyone they come in contact with ("sleeper cells"). i'm not trying to scare anyone but my point is u never know. but theres no point in being rude to every person of middle eastern ethnicity. keep it in mind.
I don't think that is the point that's really been made. I have very dear Muslim friends and they have even asked me tovpray for them even though they know I am a Christian. The point is this. Why does the Quran say in Sura 5:51" O he who believe! Take not the Jews or Christians for your friends and protectors: they are but friends and protectors to each other ( this is untrue) and he among you that turns to them for friendship is of them". Now tell me what does that mean.
Any religion that holds that God favors its members above others, whose members are going to some eternal bliss when they die while other are destined for eternal, horrendous torture, is a source of trouble. Give either Christians or Muslims the right conditions, and they'll be killing people in the name of their "God," because that God, who they believe favors them and not others, is their own crerations. Czarist Russia was rounding up entire Muslim villages in the Caucasus, putting the entire population into barns, and burning them. Similar things happened to Muslims in Greece and the Balkans in the early 1900s. The Ottoman Empire is famous for several rather spectacular massacres. Yezidis, Alevis, Christians (including nearly the entire population of the island of Chios). There are Muslims who believe that to kill an Alevi equals instant entrance to paradise. All the necessary passages are present, in the Quran and in the Bible, just waiting for the occasion. Because both books are the projections of the people (yes, people) who wrote them, and their desires, prejudices, values, fears, motives and ambitions.<br />
As for "reading the entire Qoran, Hadith, Bible, Torah," it really doesn't matter; people still pick and choose what appeals to them, according to their own mentalities. <br />
If these books are, as their followers claim, revelations of God (and Muslims claim the Qoran to be a DIRECT revelation), then couldn't God be a bit more specific? Why would He leave so much room for debate and uncertainty? If we admit that they are, at best, full of human ideas as well, the the claim for ultimate authority goes out the window, and the ugly truth is plain to see.
Muslims are often questioned, "Did not Muhammad call on all Muslims to kill the infidels?" The answer is absolutely not!<br />
Then, we are asked another question: "Why then does the Quran say, "fight and slay the pagans (or infidels or unbelievers) wherever you find them?" (9:5). <br />
There are two interrelated answers to that question. The first is historical. The second is related to the nature of the Quran itself.<br />
HISTORY: <br />
When the Islamic state was rapidly expanding in the seventh and eighth century, many people came under the direct governance of Muslims. These peoples belonged to different religions, races, ethnicities, etc. If the hypothesis that "Muslims are required to eradicate non-Muslims or "infidels" was correct, then a pattern of deliberate extermination, forced conversions, and/or expulsion would have been observed throughout the history of Islam, especially when Muslims were powerful and winning over their opponents. <br />
That systematic pattern is simply absent. For example, let us take India. India (or considerable parts of it) was for several centuries under the Muslim Mughal Empire. Many of the subjects of the empire, up to and including very high-ranking state officials, were Hindu. (This does not mean that Hindus lived under no discrimination whatsoever. But this is another issue.) Till now, India is a predominantly Hindu country. The facts on the ground belie the hypothesis that Muslims have believed that non-Muslims should be killed, evicted, or forced to convert. <br />
Another example: in contemporary Egypt, which was included in the Islamic state only ten years after the demise of the Prophet, about 6-10% of the people are Christians. Contrast this with Spain. For about eight centuries, Spain was a place of peaceful co-existence for Muslims, Christians, and Jews. (Again, I am not, at all, claiming that everyone enjoyed the same rights under the Arab/Muslim ruling.) However, in 1492 Ferdinand and Isabella signed the Edict of Expulsion designed to rid Spain of its Jews. The Jews were given a stark choice: baptism or deportation. An estimated 50,000 fled to the Ottoman empire where they were warmly welcomed. And about 70,000 converted to Christianity and remained in the country only to be plagued by the Inquisition which accused them of insincerity. In 1499, the Spanish state gave its Muslims the same choice: convert or leave. The result of these policies was simple: Spain almost entirely got rid of millions of people who were not Christians. (Spain now of course has minority groups, including Muslims coming mainly from North Africa as immigrants.) <br />
The list goes on. Investigating history clearly shows that most (saying "all" cannot sustain historical scrutiny) Muslims have never believed that they are under obligation to exterminate non-Muslims, or as non-Muslims refer to such people as "Infidels". Of course, it would not be scholastic to say non-Muslims, at many times, enjoyed "full citizenship" (though
@ anastazia "The Bible can be rather crude and rude as well but it doesnt say to go kill people."<br />
What are you reading, Baby's First Bible? If you seriously believe this to be true you've either never read it or you're in a serious case of denial. The Bible and the Quran both condone capital punishment for things we would nowadays consider minor offenses or entirely innocent. They're as bad as each other.
Porkchopsandwich, it seems you didn't read anastazia's comment . Any Muslim who says killing is against Islam is either ignorant of what the Islamic holy books said or is just lying being embarrassed to be identified with an aggressive religion. While reading one Hadith (Islamic tradition showing the life and teaching of Muhammad) I came across a comment from an Islamic Scholar in Saudi Arabia. He said initially (when Islam has not gained grounds) Jihad was PROHIBITED (which is what many Islam-is-a-peaceful-religion advocate like to quote Qur'an for. The Scholar continued that later Jihad was PERMITTED and finally, later , Jihad was MADE COMPULSORY.<br />
To add to the Qur'anic passages quoted by Anastazia let me quote another and so let Wherearewe know that Yes there are nice Muslims but these should actually be Christians!<br />
Sura 9:123:<br />
O ye who believe [Muslim ] Fight the unbelievers[non Muslims] who are near you<br />
and let them find harshness in you: and know that Allah is with them that fear him.<br />
Food for thought for eveyone.
I guess you never heard of sleeper cells.take a look aroung you. every gas station every store.they will not kill us with bullets they are going to buy us .by screwing up the economy.and don't think for a moment arabs are our friends.when we loose this country.cause of bleeding hearts as your self think of the people who died for this country
Yes, and here is believe? They have been doing this for centuries and, I believe this there calling! Here they are protected by our laws, and our rights. Their in the overseas the can and will do what they want, and if not they, too will beheaded or worst shot or hung stoned to death. It is their religious beliefs and that is what they are taught*if you believe in Mohammad).
I don't believe in categorizing any religion because in each one there is good and bad. The ignorance is why people do what they do! You see and hear it all the time in the U.S. that a spouse murdered their husband or wife because they cheated. Nothing new.......
Muslims believe in killing infidels the way Christians think homosexuality is a sin against God. Meaning it's there in that book but things change.
Thks for the welcome.....first time here so I may be slow catchingvon
well, iam a muslim and let me tell you> why you are blind >because<br />
(And whoever turns away from My remembrance - indeed, he will have a depressed life, and We will gather him on the Day of Resurrection blind." ) verse 20:124
