i personally got my piercings for myself, and no one else. The logic was I can always take a piercing out and it will disappear when I decide to finally grow up. A tattoo is forever. Anyways...apart from that it's jewelry. Like a necklace. Or a watch. Or a regular earing. I suppose you would condemn someone just for wearing a bracelet too? Don't contradict yourself now....

But that's according to your idea of what's "adult" or possibly "mature". I wouldn't look at her and think she was Immature for having piercings. And If I owned a business of some sort, I would not condemn her for having piercings as I know that kind of thing does not affect one's work skills. She could always take them out. I got mine because it had meaning for me. It is something that I will carry with me for the rest of my life and have not had a single regret getting my tattoo done. There are those who get them when they are very young and regret what they did.

Nothing is "very original". And I often wonder if people like you, Ms. Holier Than Thou, who ask these questions....do you have your ears pierced? I'm quite sure you'll say no, even if you do. But the majority of American women have their ears pierced, yet somehow that's "ok" but they condemn others who dare to have a piercing anywhere else.

They get them because it makes them happy, the same reason people choose the way their clothes are.
