Do people in NYC or Philly really get their license?

I live in NJ and yes getting to work in NW Philly would be nice but realistically I don't have money for car insurance and I know it would be high for a new driver who is 19. I also feel like I don't wanna waste money on gas and insurance since I just want to move to Center City/ University City area and then move to NYC. I'll learn when I move to the burbs...like I'll let that happen.

What is wrong with you? If you drive you need a license, insurance and all the assorted sundries. Yes, your insurance is higher till you can prove you're responsible as a driver. Which this post tells us you are not.

I haven't had a car while living in most major cities but having a license enabled me to rent a car on several occasions when it was really needed. Like many people from Boston, I got my license out of a cereal box. Rated: +1Vote for this!
