Do Rednecks really have red necks?

if that is so.. who originated the name redneck? Are they fair skinned and burn easy?

The term redneck started in reference to people who (yes) had red necks from working outdoors in the sun. They were also called "leathernecks" because of the texture of that red skin.

no not really. They are just not that well educated or have less ability to deal with life in general terms.
