I keep trying to grow my fingernails but they break off so easily! Is it an age or diet problem? Over 55... I don't eat much meat and am fairly good about vitamins and water..and pretty much eat raw all week... But I do drink beer?

yes- it is genetic. My fingernails grow so fast I have to cut them every week. I am blessed with perfect finger nails. But most people they break very easily and no matter how much they grow forget it.

However there is another way if you do not have the genes.
I swear this works because my daughters were just like yours. But you have to be willing to take the chance on it.

You have to find a very good manicurist- some of the very best do not charge a lot of money.

Be sure the manicurest is one that soaks your hands in soapy water and massages them very carefully- hands, easch finger and all the way up to your elbow.

All of this is important. If you find an excellent manicurest and go to her regularly soon you will not need to go to one any more because she will make your nails very strong over time. Soon you will be able to do it yourself.

I honestly thought my daughter was wasting money. I told her I never went to a manicurist in my life. But I saw the results.

And I started going myself too and now not only are my nails even stronger than they were before they always grow out lovely looking - and I haven't gone to a manicurest in years now except one time. I used to have to shape them when they grew out- not any more.

Well good luck.

Yes they do. The ones that grow faster are healthier, just like ones hair.

Yeah massage to promote the circulation, I used to work for Avon and they have a polish called miracle grow I've been thinking about using myself lately,I would recommend giving that a go too.Think it probably would have all the minerals for growth.

Yes. Its nothing bad. Just like my cousin has hair on the top of her head that grows slower then the hair on the back.

From what I have gathered about fingernail growth, your dominant hand nails will grow the fastest.
