Do the majority of Americans believe that 911 was an inside job?

Alot of things that happened on that terrible day didn't seem to make sense and digging deeper about what actually occured made it even more confusing. I never thought it was my place to question it because I am not American. What do Americans think?

No more than those that believe that we never went to the moon.

It is obvious that they went to the moon. When some morons started saying that they didn't with one of the reasons being that there were no stars in the sky when they were walking on the moon made me laugh, it is the same reason why you cannot see stars during the day on Earth, the glare of the Sun.

Not a majority, but a fringe group of conspiracy theorists. To such people everything that's ever happened in this country in modern times, from the assassination of JFK, the moon walk , Watergate, to the Oklahoma bombing and 9/11, has been "suspicious".

There are more credible experts in science, physics, and engineering who question what really happened to the twin towers than there are of those who defend the findings. I've read responses from the still living architects and structural designers who worked on the towers who also don't believe the official explanation. This is not the first time in history valid science has been called a conspiracy. Before the Renaissance the official story was that the Earth was flat.

I don't know why anyone would think Bush was inolved after seeing his deer in the headlights expression. He panicked, such a poor leader. Cheney had to take over.

Any major event is going to have things that don't make sense. That's the nature of things. Conspiracy theories make everything seem rational and sane, like it is in a (consciously planned and thought out) narrative where all the parts fit together. Real life is messy. Fortunately, the 9/11 truthers are a very, very small fringe with no real representation in official circles.

It's amazing to me that with so much information out there, there are still wackos who believe this was anything other than what it was - terrorism.

I know about the slick little videos on Youtube, but a few quick edits and a dramatic soundtrack do not make for truth. Read the stories of the men and women that were there - not the rantings of the structural engineers with political and profit motivations looking to play Monday morning quarterback.

When i hear idiots like Rosie O'Donnell say things about 9/11 that are so easy to disprove you could do it in a high school classroom using a torch it makes me want to vomit. (Of course Rosie in general makes me want to vomit, but I digress.)

The idea that some soft brained Americans can look at the pretty little propaganda films partially funded by anti-American foreign interests and swallow it all like Monica Lewinsky after a hunger strike just reminds me again how badly public schools have failed this country.

I don't think the "majority" believes in the conspiracy theory. Most don't even realize that Building 7 collapsed without anything even hitting it! Most Americans didn't question why Bush attacked Afghanistan when all but one of the terrorists were from Saudi Arabia!

I, personally, believe something was fishy. (And I'm American.) Bush's brother had the security contract on the World Trade Center. Bush was about to be called on the carpet for his involvement in Enron. Suddenly, the focus changed and no one mentioned the Enron deal again.

I doubt that we'll ever know the truth but I always ask myself the question, "Who benefited?"

Absolutely not true. A total myth and one that is easy dispelled. First off, the building was hit with some of the bridge supports from one of the towers resulting in twin gashes on the building that were roughly 10 stories. There are multiple recordings of police and fire personnel talking about them and also testimony from people who were staying at a hotel that was nearby with a clear view of the building. Add on that there were the water mains supplying twin 100 story buildings broken under ground, high temperatures and the loss of geographic integrity that comes from having two 20 story basements as big ad 4 fotball fields suddenly lose their interior supports, and what you wind up with is blow ground earthquake conditions. I know what the slick videos on Youtube say, but the people who were on the ground say something else, and given that just about all of them lost friends and coworkers they have very little reason to lie about it.

I wasn't there either. I'm not pretending to be an expert on this stuff. I can only react to the information that's out there, pro and con, and based on that I believe something is fishy. I'm suspicious. We put two millionaires in the White House. Cheney's fortune grew 8X just in the administration's first term because of his investments in Halliburton who got trillions of taxpayers dollars after 9/11. That makes me suspicious also. I don't know what's true. I only know who benefited.
