It is not a blob- it is a baby. And yes, I am an educated person.

You can't kill the Blob, you have to freeze it with liquid nitrogen and transport it to the arctic, otherwise it will thaw out and kill again.

Why would people concern themselves with things that have nothing to do with them?. It is a womens right to have an abortion, if that option is available to them. Or should they bring another "unwanted" child into the world.

As you've probably seen from most of these responses, most Americans, and people in general, do not know much about prenatal development. And many people do indeed believe abortion is murder.

However, it really depends on when the fetus is aborted. If the abortion occurs after the brain has begun functioning (usually around week 9 of pregnancy), then it has become what could be considered a "human," and aborting said fetus would be unethical. It goes without saying that an abortion any time before the brain begins functioning cannot logically be considered "murder."

The argument that a baby is formed at conception is bupkis. There is no thinking, feeling thing within the zygote. It's little more than a multi-cellular organism. For the religious folk who state that a soul is implanted within the "baby" at conception, I ask you this: what about twins? Twins form after splitting as a zygote, which is AFTER conception. Do said twins share a soul? What would happen if one half grew to be a serial killer, while the other grew to be a saint?

These are questions and answers that have kept me out of the really good schools.

Yes, I took biology. At 4 weeks it is totally indistinguishable from any other mammal! Seriously, though-some believe that it is not human until it is 'viable'. Others abort because they KNOW they have damaged the 'baby/blob' already. God is perfectly capable of putting a soul into a different body if needed, IMHO. In Leviticus the penalty for causing a pregnant woman to miscarry is , what? some oxen? Certainly not death.
Had I not had the 'choice' I would have resented the heck out of my eldest- it made me sit down and DECIDE to be a parent! (And yes, I was married and practicing birth control).

Yes, I'm well-versed. Before the 8th week after conception, it is actually called a zygote, not a fetus.

Consider this: over 20% of recognized pregnancies result in spontaneous abortion (miscarriage). Many primates in the wild can actually abort when resources are scarce.
If life begins at conception, it often ends shortly thereafter, on its own.
So where/how do we define "life"? If it isn't viable, is it "life?"

I think those who are opposed to abortion would be better off if they spent their time and energy focusing on the needy children who already exist in the world. If you care so much about these babies, go help the ones who have already been brought into the world. Tens of thousands of children starve to death every day-- if you're so pro-life, show it by donating your time and money so that so many children that are already born do not suffer and die miserably.

Leave women to legally, rightfully, privately make their own decisions regarding their bodies and stay out of it.

Answer to question 1: No, I don't think the majority of Americans really know about fetal development.

Answer to question 2: I, for one, do not believe abortion kills a blob. I can't speak on behalf of the majority of Americans, but I'm pretty sure most of them, confronted with the question "does abortion kill a blob" would answer in the contrary.

I sense that your true question may be something more edgy than the ones you've asked here. I'd encourage you to ask it! Worst thing that could happen is that you'd get answers. :)

The question about fetal development is how important?
The womb should be the safest place next to the arms of Jesus the unborn should live. Should someone be able to be murdered just because of their geographical location? off course not, unless it is the money making industry of abortion. You would not torture and kill an animal the way these butchers hack apart these babies. Only the Creator can inform the value of the created. Having come from nothing, as some would claim, perhaps it's easy enough to discount the immense value of a human soul. But with the knowledge that each individual person is an unrepeatable and completely unique act of love... comes the responsibility, indeed the obligation to bow one's knee in profound respect of human life. Of every human life.
These are unborn Americans and should be treated as such!
