It`s better if you can trust him/her. I `ve tried to search his iPhone once, but he found out and then I realized how stupid I was to do it. So do it only if you have serious reason.

I use to do it..... as I use to wonder if he was up to some thing, but once I became more confident I cared less and trusted more....... now I no longer check.

Sort of a gray area here. It's certainly NOT ok if your spouse considers this information as private and inviolable. If, on the other hand, he doesn't mind you checking it, then it might be considered a violation of trust to do so. If you feel this is something you should have to fret about, either you're far to insecure or your marriage is in serious trouble.
