Do true friendships exist?

or in the end, even those friends drift away over time....

There are some people who pass through your life for a season, they are there for you during that period of your life and then paths drift in other directions

That doesn't mean they are any less a friend.

I had some great people in my life during college, yet after we graduated, we moved into different areas, I moved to another country and got married. the things which made our friendship so special, no longer existed, we'd moved on.... no malice or break-ups... just new adventures.

There are some who are with us for many *seasons* and their friendship is no better or less than those who have sought other adventures and friends on that journey.

We all effect each other, remember, you are a friend as well as HAVING friends. Be there for them too !

Yes they do. I have a true friend, and we have been through much together. I also have what I consider to be a true friend here on EP as well.

Yes. Not all friendships are forever. Far from it, most are rather short lived. But there is a type of friendship, that lasts through it all. If you find someone like that, keep them!

They do but they are few and far between. In a true friendship, there can be time, and distance, and when you see the person again it will be like you were only apart for a brief time

It does, only if people worked to feed its existence. Friendship is a relationship, like any relationship it needs the basics in order to survive :understanding, respect and sincerity.
