I guess so. If adults forbid it, then kids will cultivate sexual hangups as if to believe sexual urges are unhealthy or wrong.

Elementary school, no. By 9, or 10 th grade, which to me is High School, yeah, they should be able to go into the nurses office, let's say and get them, if needed.
They shouldn't, of course, just be handed out to EVEry kid in the school. As others have said, the old, status quo, "just don't do it!", does not work!
And yes, parents should do more teaching!Stop the denial.

I have mixed feelings about that. I can see where it could do some good, especially in areas where teen pregnancy and STDs are rampant. It's a sad thing that society has reached that point, however. I honestly don't believe that sort of thing should be part of the school experience. So, I think I'd put it up for a vote for each school system, and if the majority were for it, then each student would have to have signed permission from a parent for the school to be able to distribute such an item. As it is, the school can't even give my son a Tylenol without my signing off on it, and as school budgets seem to be a bit stretched as it is, I'm not sure who would pay for such a measure or how much it might cost. In any case, kids should not be given condoms without a parent's signature of consent.
I'm one of the parents who would say "NO".

I do think it's sad....things like that are the realm of the parent, in my opinion. But I think there is a trend to make the school become "all things" to the kids nowadays. Maybe it's similar to the way government is assuming more "roles". I don't know.

YES. Do you WANT more kids getting pregnant and getting diseases?!

And I wouldn't exclude middle schools or elementsry schools. It's not like you'd be forcing kids to ta ke them. Kids who weren't needing them, would never show up at the nurse's office to get them. But they should definitely be available, just in case they're needed. Kids are going through puberty earlier.

Naive, yes. These kids are going to do what they are gonna do. If you tell them to not do something, then they will do it anyway. It is the culture that needs to change first. Parents are fighting an uphill battle if you ask me. Thats another story though. =)

*looks at teen pregnancy rates* Doesn't seem to have helped thus far. But why not? Why the fúck not..if you can't beat them, join them..right?

I don't prescribe to that. I wish teenagers would just learn to respect their body. I also wish they would hold romantic love(not that bullshít, "let's fúck" crap that is being perversely dubbed "love" nowadays) in far higher esteem.
