I think we mistakenly enter relationships with certain realistic & unrealistic expectations & then don't discuss them honestly. We sadly expect them to read our minds which is unrealistic. Then we wonder why we are disappointed.

yes we expect what we want which generally is always more, because that is human nature.

Yes, I know how I would react in a certain situation (for example when I tell someone something personally) and I will get annoyed if someone reacts way different than I would or how I expected them to react.

Exactly. That's one way in which we really set ourselves up for feeling "hurt," when people do not respond to us in the way we think they should or wish they would!

sometimes we do....:(...........and we get hurt when we expect to much....so I have stopped expecting anything....and enjoy what I am given ..:)

I know that I certainly have high expectations. But I also have an understanding that those expectations are way too high, so I try not to get too annoyed when those expectations aren't met.
