I'd say not.

Firstly, whenever I hear this song I picture that Qantas ad - all those kids from that children's choir standing in formation...

Secondly, IMO a national anthem is supposed to at least address the history and redeeming qualities of the country. Take a look at the lyrics of Peter Allen's song... Do you see anything relating to the country itself? The first location mentioned is New York!!!

While 'Advanced Australia Fair' isn't the most exciting of songs, I do believe we're better off sticking with it (at least until someone can offer a sensible alternative).
