No I don't agree with it.

although I personally don't like the idea of a burqa and think it opressive, is it not also oppression to deny women the right to wear one if they so choose?

No, I don't care what people wear. I'd rather know what they believe in. Then we'd have to dictate how people dress...although some people do dress too skimpy for my taste, cover up some!

Ban the burqa? No, who's he to judge people by their clothes? Why is he trying to act as the fashion police chief when people are jobless due to the economic crisis?
They need to spread awareness among muslim women.
Rule of thumb:
Bans can't liberate.

No I don't agree with it. I think Burqas are disrespectfull to women and it's stupid beyond beliefe but if they want to wear them it's just another bunch of nuts walking arround in weird cloths.

I don't agree. Supposedly, the reason is because the burqa is oppressive to women. Somehow, I don't think the Taliban's reach or influence extends to France. I believe that some Muslim women wear it by choice.

It's true that France has a more secular government. However, unless France plans to outlaw religion within its border altogether, people should be allowed to the traditional garb of their faith if they so choose.

wake up kids, there are some women who don't agree with it, and there are women who believe in their religion. WHO is the president of France to say who can nd who cannot wear the burqa? Honestly, it's ridiculous.

I'm not sure what's considered oppressive anymore, a girl who covers her entire body, or a girl who believes she's 'free and liberated' by showing her flesh.

No, the idea of legislating what people can wear is ridiculous.
