No. I let the full force of my staggering ignorance stun them into mute submission.

Yes, the topics that I feel very strongly about, I have researched extensivly (sp). I have been told, however that I come across as "negative" and the way I express myself offends people. I can't do anything about the negativity of my world view, but I could tone it down a bit. My frustration and anger is because I happen to care. I will never "not worry, and be happy" I can't help it. How do you express to someone that "Your House is on Fire" Wake up and Get out!!! by just being "nice all of the time.

If I'm going to say no one has a basis for their opinion, I probably already did the research on the subject, so yes.

Yes, and reserach is part of my work... However, it's always usually an opinion anyway...

of course, other wise i'd be no better than anyone else that just spouts off at the mouth without a healthy source of information.

okay let me clarify

edit

I'll admit that I don't always have the information.. to claim that "their information" is wrong. but then again..

I rarely ever do that. usually if whatever argument they give seems to make sense or interesting.. then I research that information to see if and how wrong I am lol

Yes, but there is the eternal disclaimer that the source of the research might be wrong.. I'm guilty of using research material that I have no way of proving 100% correct, but I do cross reference my material with other material.
I very rarely tell someone that there is no basis for their opinions, unless they try to say that the earth is 5000 years old or something ridiculous like that. Everyone has a self concieved basis for their opinion.

If I was going to say someone has no basis for their opinion, yeah I'd check my facts first. Everyone has the right to their own opinion, that doesn't mean I don't have the right to ridicule it! But on the same hand, I don't want someone else saying that MY opinion has no basis, hence the research.
