I am working through that at the moment with someone I've known for 50yrs. We've been friends and time to time lovers. We've always been sweet to each other but this last summer we learned how to hurt each other. I, certainly, we have been shaken to the cord of our souls. I haven't communicated with her for some time now but I know we'll have to talk again if wee want to remain Friends.

I do but it has to be mutally agreed upon and I think it works better if the relationship ended peacefully. I've done both so, been friends and not been friends, each situation has been different.
