My brother has to attend to recently deceased in his profession. He firmly believes in the spirit world. He attended a motorcyle accident one time. The rider had died a terrible death. There was no question that he had died. My brother was looking over him, when he felt a presence nearby. It was a transparent image of the rider. My brother said to it, "No your time has gone." At this, the image walked off into the trees.

I was a child. I was on my bed, it was dark. I thought i saw a ghost. Turns out it was just a jacket that looked scary in the dark.

I have no shortage of such stories. Not many under the heading of 'ghosts' in the traditional Scooby-Doo sense, but still.

I'll keep this brief as I need to get going here, but here we go:

    - when my maternal grandmother passed (immediately prior, as I recall), I had a dream about her leaving the nursing home, walking past me past wrought iron gates surrounded by fog/mist; that very same night, my mother had a dream of her late father who apparently asked her why she hadn't taken better care of her mother

    - I've had many dreams of my father since he passed, a few of them quite lucid; the lucid ones I'm invariably shocked/surprised, but when I wake up (against my will) I'm usually in tears for him having slipped away again when I would rather have spent more time with him

    - there have been 'mementos' (I'll keep it generic like that) of my father which I stumble onto, a number of them very difficult to explain, ie, coincidences can happen, they're not impossible, but these ones were quite improbable

    - I've had similar of my mother since she passed, although not as frequent or as lucid; that said, there are periods when I get waves of wrong numbers from all over (one time was a wrong number from Australia), which seems to be my mother's way of trying to let me know she's around, or to bring something to my attention, for want of a better term

    - there was one single time I heard a woman's voice in the middle of the night; she seemed to be upset, sobbing, or of that ilk, saying something like "I'm sorry" or "help me" or some such; a few months later my stepmother passed (and she dearly missed my father, in a way she couldn't wait to be with him again) -- the voice was something I couldn't clearly locate, it almost seemed like it was outside, but at the same time inside the bedroom, I sat right up, wide awake, and double-checked that I wasn't imagining it, etc

There are many other stories, but those start to venture off into the weeds of "okay buddy, now you sound weird". :P Suffice it to say I've been reminded time and again that I have at least one guide around me.

Worked nightshift in a nursing home. One room was particualrly spooky and I had to force myself to go there to chack on the patiant. After midnight, when I looked: I seen a transparent firure of an old lady in nighty 1m. above the actual patiant. After this experiance the spookyness lifted and the room became like any other. I inquired. Ellegedly no one died in that room yet.
