Do you believe in the Prophets and what they say?

I am talking about the religious prophets(e.g bible) and not the caravan next to the road or pay me $100 prophets and if you do why don't any body obey and listen to them. and start changing.

historically speaking - the term prophet (including those in the bible) generally means religious teacher - or he who is connected to God.

not - someone who can predict the future - that's a fairly recent usage

that being said. . . there is allot of wisdom in what they say - and I take from them what I find useful.

each person must change in different ways - and learn different ways - not everyone is suited for perfection :)

Prophets unfortunately don't usually give a date when things will happen. So telling us that someone will come to help us or save us or deliver us is usually a safe bet. I believe it Why not. Alan Greenspan or Ben Bernanke say that the economy will get better but not when...I believe them.... You seem frustrated that people don't listen to them or "obey"...Obey what exactly? When you just understand the creative Word and practice it, you will realize how wonderfully different is your spiritual life. allofus	Posted Jul 25th, 2009 at 1:11AM Biblical prophets yes, why we do not do what they say, depends. Most of the old testiment prophets dealt with the nation of Isreal and thier return to God, the coming of the Messiah, and the final times in history when God restores the world to what it was suppose to be. Most prophecies are not a do this or do that thing, they are mostly turn back to God or bad things will happen thing. People just have a difficult time turning away from what they precieve as thier right to enjoy no matter the cost. Rated: +1Vote for this!
