Do you believe Responsibility contradicts Freedom? Why or why not?

If you had freedom to do anything and freedom from everyone, you would still be responsible for yourself. for example, you have no laws to abide by, and let's just say that some big bad mofucka starts ******* you off, so you shoot him. well, you don't have any laws, so you are free from interference...until his buddy pulls out a piece and shoots you back. Not the most pleasant example, but it shows that you're still responsible for yourself. Or what if you decided that you just wanted to eat crappy food all day every day? still your responsibility to stay healthy.
The point is, True freedom requires a responsible and mature mindset. If you can't be mature and responsible, then your freedom is worth nothing to you.Like (2)

It certainly does not. All freedoms come with a built in responsibility to exercise them properly

as most people seem to understand freedom, yes - in popular language today people talk a lot about rights, but have very little to say about the responsibilities that produce them

yes it does... take parenting for example, there are times when I would prefer to stay in bed or not have to sit down and read that dinosaur book again but responsibility means my freedom to do what I want goes out the window.

There are some interesting thoughts from a Buddhist monk, that are short yet stimulating http://www.abuddhistlibrary.com/Buddhism/A%20-%20Tibetan%20Buddhism/Authors/Lama%20Yeshe%20Losal/Freedom%20and%20Responsibilities/Freedom%20and%20Responsibilities.htm

wow, i am impressed but your question today...
To answer your question, there are no real comparison between the two because they are not on the same scale. Asking a people if responsibility contradicts freedom is like asking if cats contradicts dogs, it just doesn't make any logical sense.
Freedom has different meanings depending on your ideological viewpoint, freedom can mean freedom from, or freedom to... freedom from bad things happening to you for example, freedom from people stealing your money, hence we have the police... but what about freedom to do whatever you want, the 1% they might argue that as long as they are not hurting other people, but if they drive really fast they could potentially cause accidents.
Responsibility is to whom? for yourself or other people? ***** you need to clarify yourself when youre asking deep questions.Like (1)

so they are referring to freedom as "freedom to", and your stance is "freedom from".... I also think that they may be looking at freedom in a more "mature" setting rather than freedom as it means to "younger" people (in general) or as the 1% see freedom.Like (1)

I bet some of the people in prisons say that it doesn’t.

No I don't think that it does contradict freedom because with freedom comes far more responsibilities put in place to keep people safe :)
