Well yes...I went thru the many GF's and learned various things..Mostly that i wanted things to work out well so much,.that i forgot to be more fussy about who i hooked up with in the first place..
So then i decided to give up..
I would be one of the most eligible bachelors and yet this would do me no credit ,.since in a smaller town ,and resigned to staying single with no GF etc...Well i cut right back on socialising just to make sure.
Then gradually but suddenly my new GF appeared..She could see thru my walls..
She persisted despite my resistance..It eventuated that we are so incredibly compatible in such a way as to be "made for each other".
Well maybe time will tell..But to even get a glimpse of what its like to be so compatible,.really does restore my faith as to the power of finding the person who is really right for you.
Maybe its a case of getting to that stage ,or simply changing the criteria of who or how they are ,or where you meet them etc..
Holding out for better can work well..Provided you get some experience along the way to compare to..Then maybe adjust yourself to expect better.

I believe in soul mates, but I also believe there is more than just one for each of us.

I am my own property. I own myself. So I was "made" for me. The idea that I am obligated to some collective that has a higher right to my property and life than I have is economic Satanism. Not that I believe in devils, except in Washington and various state capitals. The idea that loving someone make me theirs or vice-versa is absurd. If I love someone, the last thing I'd ever advocate for them is slavery.

Not quite but I sort of get your theory. I believe that we CAN find someone who is a perfect fit for us, I believe it takes us time and experience to understand ourselves fully and to know what it is that we want from a relationship and THAT often means kissing a few frogs and getting your fingers burned a little!

I used to think that, but I realised that couldn't be right. There are a lot of people out there who you might see as your 'perfect match', but it's just compatibility really.

I really wish I could believe in that, but I don't.
