Do you believe that you have to trust someone in order to truely love them?

I do believe that love without trust or trust without love is an empty concept. Trust implies that the person can be counted on to do as he says, and respect you, and you don't have to question where he is or what he's doing. Trust makes love be what it should, free, open and painless. Love shouldn't be questioned or weighed against other options. It should just be, and with it trust is connected. I can't see myself loving someone 100% and feeling a sense of a lost of trust, that brings forth jealousy, arguments and worry. Love isn't a complicated thing when it is true.. at least not by my standards.. :)

Trust and communication go hand in hand with any relationship. Family, Job, Friends,......etc
Especially a romantic relationship!

I was found that to be true. But now I love someone that I don't completely trust..so I can no longer say that's completely true. But trust does make the love stronger.

Yes, love without trust is not love.
And we can trust only when we realize that the physical life can be destroyed, but nobody can cause harm to a loving soul.

love and trust go hand in hand.... the more love you wana feel... the more you have to trust... the more you trust... the more you open youself to be kicked in the teeth.

No. There are plenty of people who don't trust their siblings or parents and they still might love them truly.

I would "Want" to trust them, and truly hope I could. But, I've made mistakes before.

Not at all. One of the purest forms of love is not expecting anything in return. Trust expects something. A very beautiful thing, but let's face it most things in this world are not that pure. :)

Now would I marry someone I couldn't trust. No way. But that doesn't mean I couldn't love them. For a healthy relationship trust and love should go hand in hand.
