Do you believe the american consumer is financially trustworthy toward his creditors?

Remember the house is not going back to the houseowner you bought it from, its going back to bank who lent the money. So, in other words, are we trustworthy in matters of repaying money?

In general, yes. However, it appears to me that the number of people who are financially untrustworthy is steadily increasing.

How about another question asking how many people have defaulted on a credit card or have credit card debt in excess of $4,000?

I am assuming that American consumers are much the same as Canadian consumers. So my answer is yes, the vast majority are trustworthy as regarding repaying debts. Right now, lots of people are in financial trouble, but remember that people who've lost their jobs and must miss payments or forfeit goods are not "deadbeats", they are people in trouble. Now, as for the trustworthyness of the creditors......that's another story!

i think consumers are about as trustworthy as the banks we deal with... how many of them are in need of a bailout?
