I don't understand this "either/or" concept that people of science tote.
Incredibly, the world is not either purely material nor purely metaphysical. Both create its existence and neither are true without the other.

I think that the singularity probably was a god, but it died in the big bang, and we are all its heirs, endowed with godly powers thus made in its image.

I don't believe in either. I think the scientific explanation is far more probable. At least it's actually using our brains to understand the world around us instead of ancient, superstitious myths.
