I've always used 'grey' even though I live in America. 'Gray' just looks wrong to me for whatever reason. Maybe I was a Brit in a past life?

I don't differentiate. I just recognize there are two spellings. I most often see the E spelling with names and A when referring to the color. Or would that be colour? :)

Technically, no. But I see gray as lighter shades and grey as darker shades, but as far as I can tell here and elsewhere, I'm the only one.
