Resolved Question

Do you do things you know you are going to feel guilty about?

I do, and I always wonder why. The amount of pleasure is always far exceeded by the constant guilt running through my head.

Oh, definitely... some out of temptation... some out of an involuntary compulsion to lash out when I have been hurt...

not often. About as often as I get deja vu. It does occasionally happen, usually if I feel I have no other choicee/option, or if I lose self-control. A loss of self-control happens most often. I am not a very guilt-ridden person. I criticize myself, or dislike myself, but rarely feel guilty.

Yes, I've been programmed to be constantly guilt-ridden.

Yes...and I repeat and repeat the same bad actions over and over again with the same results..."GUILT".

Yes. We all have conflicting urges, and with so many people on this bumper car ride called life, people are bound to run into each other (and some will look to bump into others).
I try to make the best decision I can make and run with it. I just put a little more effort to make sure somebody else does't bear a cross for my gains, if you know what I mean.
If I truly don't mean to hurt somebody, and someone gets hurt, I will try to patch things up. Most people can pick up on whether it was an accident, or that you just don't care enough about them to consider them in your action decisions.
But If I have no choice to knock someone out when they are attacking me, how could I feel guilty? If I knock someone else out in a fight that could have been avoided, then I should feel guilty. The thing is, though, that I have made a decision- before the situation came up- that hurting somebody physically is not the same as them hurting me mentally/ emotionally.
