I don't think about things like that. When I put effort into something, it's because I enjoy doing it. I never catch myself thinking that they don't do the same for me.. Though I might be hopeful for certain things and reactions, don't get me wrong. But I don't get mad or start thinking that I'm putting more effort into the relationship. I guess I just try harder next time. Sometimes it's not appreciated.

This reminds me how many times I've been told that the other person "doesn't deserve you if anything" - though I disagree with that.

I sometimes feel that way--but at the same time my husband probably does too. Try telling your significant other how you feel--communication is key: )

Yes, this happens when somehow you put your trust in the other. Love always teaches you something, more often than not it teaches you to rely on yourself a lot more. Hopefully it hasn't taught me hatred, but i know tenderness can be construed as possessiveness, and i know when there're few decent partners available , the 'decent ones' can take advantage of it and become whimsical.
